Summerfest 2008
Saturday 28 June 2008

Summerfest is a two or three day party that goes on in Point Place near the end of June. It's just a raucus affair. Noisy, dirty, obnoxious. I have no reason to bother with it. The whole ordeal ends with a fireworks display.

This year my parents and sister went to a relative's party nearby, closer to the action. I stayed home and watched old movies with the whole house quiet and to myself, though I could see the fireworks from my bedroom window. They were only about a mile off and, from my vantage, they were visible over the treeline.

This is the view out my window at the fireworks erupting above the trees.

Another one, a little clearer.

Since the camera's zoom didn't do much good I tried photographing through a pair of binoculars with mixed results.

I took this one looking into the epicenter of a nuclear blast.

Roo and GreyCat were less than pleased about all the racket going on.

Tosca hid between the bed and dresser and just drooled over everything.

All Josh wanted to do was watch his movie in peace and quiet.

After all, who wouldn't want to watch a movie about Gregory Peck wearing a wig like that?
