Osthimers in Italy
Monday 19 June - Tuesday 27 June 2006

In June 2006 Jeff&Erin went to Italy to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. While they came back with a myriad of interesting photos of their trip, they do not cover what happened back home in their absence.

Jeff was taken out to a going-away dinner on 14 June. Josh and Felicity took him and Erin to the airport the next afternoon. With the Osthimers gone, their house was entrusted to the loving care of Josh, who was in charge of caring for the dogs. Josh, Berry, and Felicity then proceeded to have a week-long Alien and Predator marathon. Watching only one movie a day, they were able to get through all seven films before the Osthimers returned to kick them out.

It was a glorious week of extravagance and free-for-all. This is how it went...

Monday 19 June.
It was only Berry and Josh on the first day to watch the first film, Alien.
And yes, that included playing Jedi vs Sith with the dogs Before the movie we had a sort of power trip, romping through the house in the ways that would make the Osthimers frown.

There's a reason why I waited two years to show these pictures.

'Cause we got no respect We also made a point of photographing ourselves raiding their fridge and using their kitchenware.

We had big plans for our week in charge All this has to go if we're going to fit the watermelon in here.

All like how the Cardassians left Deep Space Nine Berry struggles to make the projector work. We were convinced that Jeff had deliberately sabotaged it before he left.

I am sorry Mister Berry This was supposed to be a secret photo that Jeff never saw and ... oh.

It's Ian Holm! In any event, we made it work so we could watch a bunch of naked people waking up.

What a louse Berry? Hey Berry, wake up...

That'll fire his thrusters Hey Berry! It's Jar-Jar Binks!

Tuesday 20 June.
The second day and we invited Felicity to join us in watching Aliens.

It's not like we're paying him or anything Berry sets up the screen like the good lad that he is.

We claim this house in the hallowed name of Jonathan Frakes Felicity stakes her claim in the co-commandeering of this house.

I dare you to argue that Josh is happy because Aliens is like one of the best movies ever.

Another photo I probably shouldn't let Jeff see Mister Berry teeters on near disaster.

Wednesday 21 June.
Our plans to watch the third movie had to be cancelled due to a horrible thunderstorm. Torrential downpour made the roads too dangerous just for the sake of a movie. Josh stayed inside and drew spaceships fighting.
I'm guessing from this picture that somebody not far away is in for a surprise This was one of the quiet moments in the storm, the five-minute spans when the rain stopped coming down in waves.

Thursday 22 June.
The weather was nice and we got Taco Bell before tuning into Alien3.
Taco Bell is a notorious depressant Either Taco Bell makes Berry sad or he's just tired of being photographed so much this week.

IM IN UR KITSCHEN USING UR CUPS Hey Osthimers! I'm using your glassware and there's not a thing you can do about it.

Friday 23 June.
The three of us were joined by Katie for Alien Resurrection. Afterwards we made a trip to Meijer and returned for Predator, having to double up on movies that evening to make up for the day lost due to the storm. Unfortunately, no pictures were taken.

Saturday 24 June.
Plans for movie watching fell through on Saturday, which was just as well since SummerFest made movement in and out of the Point an absolute nightmare.

Sunday 25 June.
Sunday started out with a Josh in a Hat photo shoot. We watched Predator 2 but had to stop midway through to make a trip to Josh's to use the restroom, since the Osthimers' restroom was being occupied by their roommate.
This is how Berry got that black eye Josh invents a thrilling new sport: Thor golf.

There's a bunch of Josh in hats that haven't been posted because, while he's not too lazy to dress up and take the pictures, he is too lazy to post them online.

Oh, it's only Predator 2 Felicity wants Josh to stop screwing around in the back yard so we can just watch the dang movie.

Monday 26 June.
Our marathon ends today with Alien vs Predator, followed by Independence Day for good measure.
We are thankful for Mr. Berry and his clever ideas Our marathon ends, so let me thank each of us.

This is Mr. Berry. It was his idea to watch Alien movies, and for that we are all thankful.

She just keeps building it up in her mind This is Felicity. She's essential to any marathon even if she keeps missing the first Alien movie.

That's about all I can really say about myself This is Josh. All he was supposed to do was feed the dogs and make sure they poop outside.

Tuesday 27 June.
With our marathon successfully completed, it's time to pick up the Osthimers from the airport. We were happy to see them but felt the need to ask, "When are you leaving town again?" All in all, this week-long marathon was just absolute great fun.
You know what they say about all good things Sooooo saaaaaad that only the first two movies in our marathon were actually good.

Sorry Berry but I had to get these pictures online sooner or later Sooooo saaaaaad that Jeff's gonna yell at him in two years for touching the projector.

And Berry is a terminal case after all BERRY TERMINAL, for all your Berry needs.

Interestingly enough we always get chased out by a giant fireball, but that's Southwestern Airlines for you There's this long tunnel at the airport and I always feel like it should lead to the Death Star's reactor.

Why don't people just take their stupid cars with them? Goodness! There is no place to park at the airport!

No wonder there's no where to park Josh says, "No parking in this parking garage."

It's not like he's never 'parked' before, after all Berry begins to feel desperate in his quest to park.

Oh like who parks that close, seriously Nothing is simple as the Osthimers haul their luggage and tired frames through rows of parked cars.

The Osthimers might have won this round The Osthimers are home, safe and sound. Italy will never be the same, but for those of us who remained in the States, the bitter taste of Alien vs Predator remained with us for some time.

Blech!
