JoshFest: 2006
Saturday 19 August 2006

Snakes on a JoshFest was held on 19 August 2006 and began with the entire party going to see the blockbuster SNAKES ON A PLANE, a much anticipated movie event. Dinner was sought and found at Olive Garden where we probably annoyed the other diners seeking a quiet meal before heading to Josh's House for presents and cupcakes. The evening ended at Jeff&Erin's where we watched Snatch and played DDR 'till our hearts content.

In all it was a very good JoshFest, with a high turnout, lots of action, and a heap of fun.

Attendees: Josh Gulch, Jeff&Erin Osthimer, Marie Jarden, Felicity Powers, Katie Mihaly, Chris Berry, Carey Fisher, Phil Dake, Dan Norton, Devin Collins, Sean Murray, Katy Murray, Charles Meyer, Lisa Knell, and Paul Arquette.

Thank you Dana Sano, Paul Broucek, Erin Scully, Lori Silfen, John F. X. Walsh, and Lee Blaylock Dan gives his approval of the people who made SNAKES ON A PLANE possible, whose credits play behind him.

Orchestrations by Trevor Rabin of Yes fame -- buy the soundtrack album Josh near the end of the credits, pleased with the past two hours of his life.

What you don't see is someone out of frame holding the magnesium flash Katy has devolved technologically, abandoning her digital camera to one that functions by exposing a chemical-treated film to light. Barbaric.

It's his trademark move Nothing ever makes Berry happy, and he takes every opportunity to let you know how displeased he is.

The chase was positively thrilling Upon leaving the theater a high-speed chase ensued, eventually bringing us to our Olive Garden destination.

I basically just like this picture Felicity is often given to registering disgust, though one musn't think this due to her proximity to Sean.

Nobody will ever see Katy's photos Josh takes a picture of Lisa taking a picture of him. Brace yourself, because there's going to be a couple more on this theme.

Unlike the others, I have Lisa's perspective!

Nobody will ever see Katy's photos Marie looks on in shock while Katy uses the moment to take a photo ... on film.

Look for this hat on a website about hats someday Josh feels weird whenever he's made the center of attention, especially in public facilities.

We put the bread in front of Katie to add further insult Katie was only allowed a single lemon slice for dinner. Sean emphasizes the cruelty of the situation by reaching over her for more bread.

Berry is not a keen salad eater The entire group digs into their bread and salads. This does not go unnoticed by an observant Mister Berry.

What's dinner without a little sexism? Here they are, the girls of JoshFest: 2006! That is, minus Katie who left to use the restroom.

See, it's not all about exploiting the ladies Not to be outdone, the guys of JoshFest: 2006 show their worth.

It's all Josh wanted for his birthday With Jeff sporting a noodle on his forehead, Berry prepares for one of the more humiliating moments of his life.

I offer prints of this photo matted in a nice frame Berry eats the noodle from Jeff's face. Poor, abused Mister Berry!

Love is not always romantic and beautiful Jeff wipes the Berry from his forehead as Berry tries to wash the Jeff out of his mouth.

'Course, Carey also had to photograph Phil in the process, so he loses out in the end Carey photographs Josh taking a photograph of him. It's an age-old staple of two people with cameras.

Now to get the Planet of the Apes set... Present time!

The Indiana Jones box set from the Osthimers, which brings Josh one step closer to being better than Ian.

But does Bill Clinton still play the sax? Felicity got Josh the Animaniacs DVDs, which is just awesome.

In truth, passengers had to solve puzzles before boarding the lifeboats The Malcolms couldn't make it today but sent along the Titanic board game. Would you expect anything less than questionable ethics from them?

He has served us well; now he must sleep All of this has just tuckered Jeff out. Give him a minute, he'll be okay.

Josh is also a slight control freak It's time for the singing of the Birthday Song! Josh mounts the refrigerator to provide an eagle's eye view. As overseer he can ensure that everything goes according to plan.

I may be exaggerating so don't ask for more examples I can't even wager as guess as to how things like this happen, though I wish this had been the first time that I'd seen Erin ride Berry like a pony.

I hope that Jeff's bosses never see this photo Josh conducts the choir in this one-time performance of the Happy Birthday Song. Jeff salutes like his homeland was being annexed.

The tagline for this photo is anachronistic because the movie I stole it from came out after this party And now for the crescendo!

It's the true spirit of JoshFest Nothing like a JoshFest to make people stand on furniture and each other.

We upgraded the dog Dan and Katie never realized how close they came to Hypnotosca's laser eyes.

ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOSCA

But it makes good press Isn't it sweet that Josh's friends all wanted to help him down by crowd surfing? He politely declined and leapt to the floor where he shattered both of his ankles.

Part of that may be a lie.

Cherry frosting is Josh's favorite Marie made these cupcakes for the party! They had cherry frosting and we insanely tasty.

He is a junior geologist Josh picked the red and grey cupcake that looked like a lava flow.

It still sits today as a massive deadweight inside his gut Phil eats a ball of taffy the size of his fist. He sculpted it from many smaller taffies.

Nothing like a /misc directory to kill twenty minutes With everything being all Josh Josh Josh, a tour was made of all the crap he'd put on the Internet.

She is a busy gal Katy rushes along; always in a hurry, always on the go, always work to be done.

Chin up little emo nerd We relocated to Jeff&Erin's pad. This apparently made a grumpy, frumpy Mister Berry.

He drew from our life energies We believed that if everybody placed a hand on Berry that he would perk up a tad. It nearly worked!

He's like Special Ops but without a beret Sean is a man of action and decision. There is always a mission to accomplish!

It may be more obnoxious to me because I was terrible at the DDR version of this particular song Jeff and Devin play DDR. This is that obnoxious Gorillaz song.

Phil could host a show on C-SPAN looking like that Phil dons Katy's spectacles in order to focus on more philosophical matters for a moment.

They look so forlorn, pleading with Jeff to let us stay It was nearly one when Jeff&Erin kicked us out of their house. With no place better to go this meant the party was at its end.

He missed the party so we took the party to him Felicity took Josh back to his house and along the way we saw Mr. Andy Black standing on his stoop. We stopped to antagonize him.

We're always looking out for Andy's needs Mr. Black was trying to have a heart-to-heart with his girlfriend. We interrupted to harass him. We're good friends!

He also has an offensive position but that'll get him arrested When Mr. Black crouches into a defensive position you know it's time to go. We bid him a good night and good luck, then departed to our respective houses to revel in the adventures of the day.
