Dungeons & Dragons
Saturday 26 November 2005

Nearly every weekend a group of us would gather at Jeff and Erin's house to play Dungeons and Dragons. Usually there wasn't a camera to document any of it, but Josh happened to bring his this time.

Attendees: Jeff Osthimer, Josh Gulch, James Malcolm, Katy Murray, Charles Meyer, and Paul Arquette. Absent this time: Erin Osthimer and Devin Collins.

The beginning Katy, Charles, and Jeff before gameplay began. Katy had candy for everyone!

Josh is a jerk Paul spent a good deal of time finishing out the stats of his character, which he was starting today. Josh makes fun of him.

Jeff begins his power trip Dungeonmaster Jeff getting ready to open a can of die 20s on us.

Meyer munchies Apparently the rock candy wasn't enough, and Charles turns to eating his own hand. But Jeff had soup cooking, so nobody died of hunger.

Paul is a man of few words, but many solemn glances Paul in profile, ready for action.

Josh collects oxygen in his hands, which he has to suck out to survive Katy took Josh's camera and took the only photo of him in a while that he didn't take himself.

Katy pulls a Josh ... so sad Katy then turned the camera on herself, for an exciting self portrait.

Remember what I said about pictures making people look crazy? James does an impersonation of Tiger the cat, who lies in front of him.

He's lost it He continues the impression, which does not help his reputation in the least bit.

Tiger could totally care less, as is her character This was the subject of James' odd mannerisms.

Isn't this just so touching? Jeff takes a moment to bond with his kitty.

Zeus on Olympus Jeff remained atop the table, which made gameplay a little weird, but we played on nonetheless.

Nice nose hairs Josh Josh makes another face, 'cause he ain't got no respect.

You know you've screwed up if you see this naturally Pray that this is not the last sight your eyes ever see.

Hugs should not look that uncomfortable, Josh Katy insisted that Josh needed a hug, which Josh didn't know how to respond to.

Jeff becomes Josh Jeff took Josh's seat, so Josh took Jeff's. Maybe that's why Jeff looks moody ... he's in Josh's shoes now, so to speak.

Josh becomes Jeff This was supposed to be Josh mocking Jeff, acting all clever and thoughtful whilst in the big seat.

Why is Charles looking at James that way? It was time to go! Jeff stood tall while he kicked us out.

Now I feel bad and I don't know why What is wrong with Paul? Why does he look so depressed?

There is a cold spot in everybody's hearts James, ready to leave, knowing that Jeff no longer loves him.

It doesn't really look like her, so nobody can proove that it is her Katy is disgusted that her photo was taken. She really seems to be holding it against me.

Roll die 20 -- the end It has been a full day of D&D, and the wear shows in Josh's eyes. Now it's time to go home and do something real on the Internet.

BONUS FEATURE:
Afterwards at Steak 'n Shake.

Everybody went home, and it was about two hours before a bunch of people got together for dinner at Steak 'n Shake. These people included Jeff, Josh and Paul from earier, but now adding Chris Berry, Aaron Skomer, Chris Loy, and one of Jeff's UT students to the mix.

Mister Berry is a real man in a world of sane people Berry shortly after we were seated. Josh hadn't seen this guy in a month, so he greeted him with an insult.

Paul before food Paul seems amused by something. Berry was probably just made fun of.

SLUUUUUUURP Berry gets his hot chocolate, which was apparently so tasty that the camera could not focus on his moment of cocoa bliss.

I could have been on my way to becoming a senator by now What did Josh do to wind up with this lot of people?

Paul ... in Action! Paul gets his check, in the most dynamic way imaginable.

Jeff was exhausted by this point, and you can tell Jeff tells what is certainly a terrifically enthralling story.

Six dollars isn't too much, right? Maybe. Berry tries to work out a way to accuse the restaurant of robbing him blind. He failed to find a way.

Insert 'Jeopardy' theme here Paul contemplates the entire universe, and arrives at the answer in a Steak 'n Shake. How ignoble.

The Imperial Star Destroyer 'Devestator' does not have a registry number Mister Berry outside after dinner. He is probably playing "Beyond the Stars" in his head.

We all have days like this Josh drew this on the back of a placemat. That's Jeff and his recent problem.

Artwork Credit Josh Gulch
Berry has a bad feeling about this Berry tends to get himself into the oddest problems. These problems may or may not stem from wearing Jar Jar Binks on his t-shirt.
